Tasmania is about 3/4th designated as protected National Park.  This is the best place for hiking, camping and outdoors nature activities.  Plus the easiest state for self drive itineraries allowing you to explore at your own pace.  Hobart is home to one of the country’s top art galleries, the  Mona.  While in the north Port Arthur is the original penal colony with fascinating historical tours.  Tasmania boasts having the world’s cleanest air, tested daily and continually.  Winter time brings snow to this southern island’s mountains, while the coastline towns remains dry.  And of course you can see in the wild, Tasmanian Devils and the lucky ones will see wild platypus, too!
